The adolescent program aims at addressing the issues and challenges faced by adolescents growing up in the families served by Shalom, and enabling them to live wholesome lives.
The Life Skills Program for the older adolescents equips them to build resilience, make informed choices and cope with life’s numerous challenges. The Character Development Program helps build into the younger adolescents values that would enable them approach life with the right perspective and live as responsible and caring persons. Cell Groups are gender sensitive groups which occur once a month, these groups enable adolescents to closely interact with the facilitator. The facilitator gets an opportunity to reinforce the things taught in class and spends time encouraging the adolescents. The Cell groups has helped the girls and boys to open up to each other about their deepest needs and has enabled the adolescents to learn from each other.
